Today I came across a website that could prove to be an excellent resource for both new and veteran instructional designers: InstructionalDesign.org
Operated by Richard Calatta and Greg Kearsley, the site includes a world of knowledge, including definitions of common terms used by instructional designers and explanations of various learning theories. It also includes book reviews and job listing.
The copy-write date is 2022, so the site is still new and that’s pretty obvious. It’s not the most attractive site. And some features are still under development. For example, the publishers plan to include overviews and reviews of the different storyboarding platforms available. But unfortunately, that page is still blank. Interruptive pop-up ads are also an annoying distraction.
But despite these drawbacks, there is already of ton of information available on the site. I believe as soon as the rough edges are smoothed out, this page will be an excellent resource for anyone interested in the field of instructional design.
